Bret Stanley has over 30 years of investment experience managing concentrated value equity portfolios. He founded Stanley Capital Management in 2010 and is the portfolio manager of the Stanley Partners Fund -- a long-short private investment partnership offering an uncommon alignment of interests, fee structure (0+20), and tax efficiency.

Bret has a distinguished 30-year investment record that is 2x the equity market average. Previously he was Chief Investment Officer, Senior Portfolio Manager, and Head of the Invesco Value Equity group. He created the Value Equity unit in 1998 and it reached $15bn in AUM following significant outperformance versus peers and benchmarks. Prior to joining Invesco Aim in 1998, Bret was a Vice President and Portfolio Manager with Van Kampen/Morgan Stanley from 1995 to 1998. Prior to Van Kampen, he was Vice President and Portfolio Manager at Gulf Investment Management. He began his investment career in 1988 as a sell-side equity analyst for Lovett Underwood Neuhaus & Webb before joining Rotan Mosle/PaineWebber.

Bret received a B.B.A. in finance from The University of Texas at Austin and an M.S. in finance from the University of Houston. Through a Boston University program, he also studied abroad and worked as an equity analyst at Sheppards in London, England. He holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation and has been featured in a variety of publications including the book by Kirk Kazanjian, Value Investing with the Masters.

He has been married to Judy since 1990 and has three sons: Reed, Weston, and Blake.
