Born in El Salvador, Rafael immigrated to Houston, TX in 1997 at the age of 12. He is a graduate from the University of Houston where he attained a Masters of Science in Finance degree and BAs in Finance and Economics. Professionally, Rafael has been a successful commodities trader for nearly 17 years and is a partner at Hartree Partners. This success enabled him to launch his family office, Maximo Capital in 2020 which he has personally invested nearly $100M through. The focus of the family office has been passion, founder led sports socials focusing on community, content and commerce. Additionally, has invested in various real estate projects largely around the operations of businesses invested in. In 2022, he founded his own passion project following his love for cars and motorsports which is now a conglomerate known as the RAFA Family of Companies.
