Recently retired from a 35-year career as an investor, leader, and builder of alternative asset and private debt teams and businesses. Managed portfolios as large as $36 billion. Led the private debt investment teams at AIG Global Investments and Sun Life Capital Management and co-founded the private debt affiliate for Thomas H. Lee Partners, one of the oldest private equity firms in the U.S. Investments included corporate debt, middle market loans, securitizations, commercial real estate loans, infrastructure debt and project finance including renewable energy. Served on the board of an alternative asset manager, a telecommunications wire manufacturer, a manufacturer of drilling derricks, a reseller of semiconductor equipment, a specialist in insurance claim recoveries, and a publicly traded business development company.
