Samina Farid
Samina is a retired energy and technology executive, successful entrepreneur, and investor. She currently leads the Houston Chapter of Golden Seeds. Golden Seeds is one of the earliest angel investment organizations supporting women entrepreneurs. She also serves on the boards of the Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council, The Orange Show Center for Visionary Arts, OPEN Houston, and Greater Houston Women’s Chamber of Commerce. Samina’s background includes both an impressive corporate career and entrepreneurial success. Samina started as a Computer Programmer with Esso Eastern, Pakistan and rose to executive positions while at HNG/Enron. She later founded Merrick Systems, an innovative global technology company with software solutions for managing oil and gas production. After a successful exit, Samina has advised CEOs and mentored both men and women in corporate and entrepreneurial leadership. She loves learning and was a 2018 Fellow at Harvard’s Advanced Leadership Initiative.
